Travel Log: Trinidad, Day Five

T&T Airport (Buzz Carrick, 3rd Degree)
Time to pack and hit the road. I hope everyone enjoyed the short trip to T&T. The last game notes will be up later today.

Travel Log: Trinidad, Day Four

The President’s House (Buzz Carrick, 3rd Degree)
Vacation day yesterday, now it’s back to business. A bit of a stroll on the way to the game, but loads of soccer to be had.

Travel Log: Trinidad, Day Three

Maracas Bay (Buzz Carrick, 3rd Degree)
Well that was fun last night, a couple great games on the offer. Today is day off for the team, or mostly a day off. That means it’s a day off for me too so I plan some sightseeing.

Travel Log: Trinidad, Day One and Two

View from Hilton Trinidad (Buzz Carrick, 3rd Degree)
It’s been a little while since I done one of those and some of you may not be familiar with them. In case your not a do a travel log type bit with lots of stuff I am seeing and doing with soccer mixed in. I will also do some game reports, but they won’t be like traditional newspaper stories. That I’ll leave to official PR types. Instead I’ll do some thoughts and notes on the games, basically the same thing I do in the Monday Morning Gaffer series.

Road Trip: USOC and the Charleston Battery

Inferno in Charleston
As a die hard FCD fan, there’s nothing better to me than a good road trip, especially for the Open Cup where one team is going home ecstatic and the other has crashed out of the tournament. Despite what some people say about the Open Cup, I still believe there’s a lot of magic in this tournament. I mean it’s the oldest sporting tournament in this country….what more can you want?!

Road Report: Welcome to the SLC

I was all set to write about my trip to Salt Lake City with pictures and all, but tragedy struck this morning when my memory stick cracked. After a few failed attempts at getting my computer to read the card, I merely let out a string of explatives, grabbed my backpack and set out for class. I’m in the process of trying to salvage the pictures- all 60 of them- full of mountains, the view from Park City, the Olympic torch and the game- you know, nothing important, right? Until then, however, I can’t post any visual proof that I was indeed in Utah and not stuck back in Dallas with the snow flurries.
