As I mentioned before I have been planning to celebrate the tenth anniversary of 3rd Degree’s founding with a series of Top Ten lists of FC Dallas history. We’ll kick that celebration off with something simple that still manages to create a large amount of discussion, the Top Ten Players in FC Dallas/ Dallas Burn history.

With FC Dallas playing in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final on October 3rd, it’s a good time to take a look at the team’s history in the competition since 1996, the advent of the “professional era.” The history includes some great games and some great names. It includes players from the past who became heroes, others who became goats, and a collection of upper and lower-tier teams that became Dallas enemies through their repeated meetings in the country’s national soccer championship. As will become evident with some of the foes Dallas has faced in the Open Cup over the years, familiarity breeds contempt.

Passion, Commitment, Integrity. The purpose of the Texas Credit Union Walk of Fame is to acknowledge and honor the people who have promoted and contributed to North Texas area soccer. So far, eight honorees have been commemorated with monuments along the walk between the youth fields north of Pizza Hut Park. With the 2007 nominations open until Independence Day, this space is devoted to consideration of the candidates, as well as to the appreciation of those already enshrined. Today’s spotlight is on Jason Kreis.
