Only the USA’s stunning return from a 0-2 deficit in the second half saved what Landon Donovan had called a “must win” from spelling World Cup disaster for the Americans.

Brek Shea scored twice Saturday night as FC Dallas used a second-half surge to cruise by the San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 at Pizza Hut Park. Shea’s goals, just two minutes apart were ample demonstration that his early-season jitters seem far behind the young player.
