Today was, I thought, a day FCD would hold a scrimmage against Regals FC. That’s sorta what happened, and it’s sorta not. You see, the FCD reserves only played the first half of the scrimmage. After that the FCD Juniors took over and played the second half. During the first half of play the FCD starters trained on the next field over, and during the second half the entire FCD squad trained on the next field over. So today was a scrimmage. And it wasn’t.
In a move to further build their youth set up, FC Dallas has created the position of College Director and named their initial hire, Scott Dymond. I know absolutely noting about this guy other than what I read in the FCD press release below, but I applaud the move as another step in the progressive FCD youth set up that continues to push the envelope in MLS youth clubs.
Highlights of Austin Aztex vs DFW Tornados.
FC Dallas has loaned Generation adidas striker Peri Marosevic to the Austin Aztex of the USL/NASL. The Aztex currently sit atop the USL standings with 24 points. While this move is undoubtedly intended to get Marosevic playing time, Aztex strikers Edward Johnson and Jamie Watson currently sit 2nd and tied for 3rd in USL goal scoring.
We’re giving away a “Brazil” pair.
Against Regals FC.
Once again the MLS Players Union has released the MLS salaries. Here are the FCD player and the amounts they make. Most shocking of all? Ruben Luna is listed as being a FCD player and making a base of $45,000. So is he or isn’t he signed by FC Dallas?
One down as USA earns a draw against England. Were you at the big watching party at Victory Plaza hosted by FC Dallas?
This is an instant photoshop classic.
