Steve Purdy Cut by FC Dallas

Why I Think Purdy is Getting a Bit of a Raw Deal

According to 3rd Degree sources, Steve Purdy has been cut by FC Dallas. Purdy was signed from 1860 Munich last season and won the job of starting center back in the spring. Injured for most of last year and now healthy again Purdy was listed as a trialist by FC Dallas this spring as he competed for one of the last roster spots. Purdy has apparently lost that roster battle and will now be seeking a new club. As a “trialist” there my not be an official waiver announcement from the club.

Strike Averted

During today’s call MLS and the MLSPA announced a new Collective Bargaining Agreement had been reached thus averting the threatened players striker. Details are still emerging, but it sounds like there is some compensation increase and some movement freedom.
