FCD vs Muse

March 19th, 2010 . 10:01 pm . By: Buzz Carrick

FCD does this cool little bit where they invite touring non-soccer related entities that are into the beautiful game to scrimmage some players and staff at Pizza Hut Park.  It’s a beautiful little PR bit that gets a little coverage of FCD in areas that they usually don’t get much press in.

Previous incarnations of this bit have been Metalica and the race car drive Dan Wheldon.  For the Wheldon bit, who actually trained with the team, there were 20 to 25 extra media there.  It was terrific.

The latest of these events was with the band Muse.  Muse happens to be one of my favorite bands of the last decade.  They are resoonbile for this bit of music video greatness.

Disappointingly Muse asked for the event to be private. That would have been a good (fun) little PR moment for FCD. Here’s FCD’s little post game video of Muse playing. Their basest bassist had a hat trick.

FCD should keep doing these little bits. Hopefully some more of them can be PR bits for the benefit of the team.

    Pretty cool.

Not to be “that” guy, but it’s bassist. He plays the bass. As a bass player, I just had to.

Damn that’s cool! Just saw them in concert in Ft. Worth this week. Love this band!
