Cut Day
March 1st, 2010 . 12:18 pm . By: Buzz CarrickToday, March 1st, is roster cut down day. That means today is the day most rookies and trialists are dreading. FCD has to be cut down to 24 players by 5 PM ET today. Although with the home grown player Bryan Leyva it’s really 25, but that’s an extra spot outside the primary roster. Or at least it was last time I asked. MLS rules change fast sometimes. Outside of Zach Loyd and the Ga player Andrew Wiedeman, who are givens, I expect Steve Purdy to keep his pot and Eric Alexander to make the team. Sean Kelly should be the 3rd keeper for now perhaps until FCD signs a vet in that spot. There may also be one more player to make it, likley a striker like Jason Yeisley or Misho Fahim, holding that 24th spot until FCD signs a expereince attacker to push Jeff Cunningham. You can check the roster dance for more info. 6 Comments Comments RSS TrackBack Identifier URI Leave a comment |

typos can be quite funnny – thanks Buzz!
“I expect Steve Purdy to keep his pot”
I agree Jonesing. It’s almost like Purdy is benefitting from some reduced rigor in the MLS drug testing policy!
maybe the players did win a concession in failed CBA sessions…
Yay for ganja!
As long as he shares. Puff, puff, pass….
Or NOT cut day… so it seems.
