Hyndman on Saturday Scrimmage

February 5th, 2010 . 4:37 pm . By: Buzz Carrick

FCD has their first scrimmage of 2010 this Saturday at 10 am up at Pizza Hut Park.

Here’s what Hyndman says you can expect to see if you go up there.

“I’m taking this preseason game a little bit differently. I’m taking it for all our new people and all of our trialists. I wanted them to play. I want to evaluate them. Our first-team players will probably be doing a training session. They won’t get in the game.”

“Yeah, Zach Loyd picked up a hamstring strain yesterday, so he probably won’t be available, which is too bad because he’s our No. 1 draft pick but he’s been doing well. I think Yeasley is coming off an injury, a twisted knee. Peri (Marosevic) has got a little bit of a banged knee. Of course, Kyle (Davies) came through with that hernia surgery, so he’s unable to go 100 percent. What we wanted to do really is to take another look at the Steve Purdys and some of the other players that are here as trialists. So, we’ll be able to put out a competitive team but we have a couple of internationals in our camp. We want to give them a chance to show us what they can do.”

Who are the “internationals” that are in camp? They were not losted on the preseason roster. Or were they?

Dan there was the young Chinese kid and I think there is another international in there as well. Hyndman is also scouting a striker from T&T and a GK from Germany. Maybe they’ll show up…
