It is nice that the blog is back, however; this Leigh Anne character is filtering comments. I have already seen several comments erased – and not even bad ones. I simply recommended we see more team-related posts and less personal ones. Erased.

Approval?! I’m all for supporting the club and I personally try my best to be positive, but shouldn’t the blog be a forum for fans to discuss their opinions on the club?

Am I crazy? Or is this move just another example of the blog (which used to be so great) becoming mediocre (if that) and boring.

It’s their platform. They set the rules. You’re welcome to not read, but I’m not shocked they’d want to filter the masses a bit.

I was a big part of commenting when the comments were not filtered…and I can say that I am so 100% behind the decision to filter comments. The reason is it became a battle ground for people to just personally attack each other. I tried and tried to foster meaningful conversation about FCD, and only got lambasted for my trouble.

Because I refused to get on the FCD sucks bandwagon that was going on there for a while, I got constantly accused of working for the front office, because no one in their right mind could possibly think anything good about FCD. (At least that’s what they tried to represent.)

Plus, there were a couple of idiots who would simply post the FCD losing record up to five times on every single blog post, instead of bringing any sort of actual commentary. It’s not like we wanted to only hear good things about FCD, we welcomed the criticism and participated in it, we just wanted something even somewhat resembling an actual comment.

It got so ridiculous that I, along with countless others, left the blog and never returned. We all said that if comments were moderated, that would have never happened.

That’s my two cents…sorry for the long comment. It just meant a lot to some of us and got basically hijacked by morons.

I remember all the sagas with Harlan, but I always thought it was just one single user that was bugging Harlan. More than 1 poster was negative for sure, but I think it was only 1 that was always actively attacking Harlan, so we probably have that one person to thank for the filtering on blog comments.

but of course, it much more fun to post comments on 3rddegree than on the FCD blog

For the record, it was way more than one at times. And I’m still not entirely sure what I did or said to deserve all of that. I just was supportive of FCD when no one else would step up for them…it all got quiet once they started winning games.

Oh well, I’m certainly not losing any sleep over it.
