Nice jersey! And the “hoops” that became “half-hoops” now take another chop to become “hoo”.

  2. Comment by Seanathan on January 5, 2010 1:33 PM

Meh. I’m leaning towards the thought that it might be time for a complete kit overhaul.

  3. Comment by Charley on January 5, 2010 1:50 PM

not bad. i like it! when does it come out?

  4. Comment by mudpoet on January 5, 2010 1:57 PM

    I hate it

While I think it’s one of the better-looking jerseys Dallas have had since the rebrand, I kind of agree with Seanathan. The need for the back to be solid color for number readability (and why not just use a more readable font, MLS?) makes the one-sided stripes, whether vertical or horizontal, just look kind of silly

I’ll withhold judgment until I see it in person.

My only question about this mockup is: why is it maroon? Coz that ain’t red. Look at the contrast between the jersey and the FCD crest….

  7. Comment by Buzz Carrick on January 5, 2010 3:21 PM

Jay, that’s just “shading” to give it depth. It’s RED.

You can find previous season’s jerseys in the archives.

  9. Comment by hank on January 5, 2010 3:50 PM

Went from hoops to half hoops to this piece of crap.

  10. Comment by Chris on January 5, 2010 4:00 PM

Looks fine to me – the v-neck is not out of control.

And a slimming look with the hoops heading into a V shape.

  11. Comment by Moose McDowell on January 5, 2010 4:34 PM

…yeah, no thanks FCD. I’ll wait another 2 years for the next one. When I said “sea of red”, I didn’t mean you should screw with the jerseys.

I’m done with hoops, Have not bought a new one since second year and won’t buy another until hoops are gone. Maybe the away jersey will be more interesting. I know you love the hoops Buzz, but I just don’t, I’ve tried to get into them, but I simply can’t which affects my interest for the team in general. I’m sure someone will say how stupid that is, but it’s true.

  13. Comment by KyleP on January 5, 2010 5:58 PM

Isn’t the espndallas sponsorship carrying through next season?

  14. Comment by Seanathan on January 5, 2010 6:01 PM

I’d like to see us go back to the later Burn set up with a solid color and understated thin stripes horizontally. Maybe it’s just nostalgia talking, but it is a very clean look.

  15. Comment by Buzz Carrick on January 5, 2010 6:04 PM

Kyle, the ESPN thing was two games.

also ESPNdallas has since told FCD, “we’re not interested in covering soccer.”

  16. Comment by Wolfhound on January 5, 2010 6:45 PM

Looks like the sides are all that cool mesh netting stuff. That should be a comfy kit on hot days. I’d rather have practical than hoops all the way around. I’ll get one.

Any word on the back and numbers (red w/white numbers, white w/black numbers)?

  17. Comment by Adam on January 5, 2010 9:10 PM

Call me nutty, but I was a big fan of the original hoop kit with the collar. I know it wasn’t practical in the summer heat, but it was distinct. The new layout of the “hoops” looks like the outline of a peppermint heart. I’m all for love, but not on the pitch.

  18. Comment by captincanuck on January 5, 2010 10:15 PM

Its the same strip pattern that’s on the original FCD kit. The one with the collar

  19. Comment by MachineGunner on January 6, 2010 8:46 AM

I’m told the back is solid red with white numbering

  20. Comment by Travis on January 6, 2010 11:43 AM

I kinda like it. Definitely better than the previous one. Like another poster said, I want to see it in person first.

  21. Comment by brunomarmos7 on January 6, 2010 12:50 PM

    I hated.

  22. Comment by English James on January 6, 2010 1:40 PM

Looks like a step forward on the 2009 jersey

  23. Comment by historian on January 6, 2010 5:14 PM

They could play in pink for all I care. Let’s get a trophy.

  24. Comment by Romtz on January 6, 2010 10:10 PM

NotnoNprofit surprisingly, the cut is similar to the jerseys released by adidas. The national team jerseys come in two versions: the player version which is form fitting and has the adidas Powerweb banding on the back and down the sides (supposedly improves endurance), and the “official” version which is looser and doesn’t have powerweb. The “official” versions are available at retail – the player versions are only available special edition. I wonder if MLS will get the same treatment.

  25. Comment by Brent on January 7, 2010 4:50 PM

On uniwatch.com they have the entire catalog which includes the away jersey. Similar to last year’s but with blue sleeves instead of white.

  26. Comment by Chad on January 8, 2010 5:31 PM

I’m with Historian. Trophies are what matters.

  27. Comment by Chad on January 8, 2010 5:32 PM

I mean, Trophies are what matter.
