FC Dallas has said they are looking for a Technical Director, but according to Hyndman the search isn’t really underway as FCD doesn’t even have a job description yet.  The goal, Hyndman says, is to have someone by the combine which takes place in mid January.

Here’s what Hyndman said yesterday.

We really haven’t had a sit-down official meeting on this but we hope to have it in a couple of weeks. I think in a week or a couple of weeks, I probably need to review this season, go through all the things like ratings of the players, evaluations of players and we’ve got an Expansion Draft coming up. We’ve got this and that and a lot of other things. So we have been pretty aggressive on being proactive with different scenarios.

This one came to us just about a week ago or so. A job description needs to be put in place-what are we looking for and what are the responsibilities? There are people already applying. I think it would be nice to have somebody here before the combine because that’s going to be a pretty big event. If that person is here before the combine, then that person is now involved in the draft. I don’t think if that person came on board tomorrow that they would do anything we’re not doing now. We’ve got conferences and college games that we’re scouting and evaluating players. I think the sooner the better only so that there can be an organizational chart in place.
