Nominees for AT&T Goal of the Year

November 2nd, 2009 . 11:40 pm . By: Buzz Carrick

I only have one question. Where is the Cooper 70 yard goal?

Are you kiding me?  No Cooper?

Let’s be honest, there are some real dogs in there.  Even some long range shots that are nice, but none of them match the Cooper one.  There are some nice FCD goals too, most of them are near the end when FCD got hot.

I’m not saying Cooper should win, but there are what… 50 odd goals in here? Not to have Cooper is a joke.

Here, I’ll even find it for them.

Thank you…that needed to be said.

are any of the nominated goals the product of players no longer in the league? If Cooper was excluded by rule, it’s a crappy rule, but it explains the decision.

Aren’t they just all of the GotW winners? If Seattle hadn’t ballot-stuffed Cooper out of the win in week 1, it’d be there.

Of course they bent the rules last year for Beckham’s long-range empty-netter to be included…

    Rex,
No, I think there are two week 1 goals in there, but not Cooper’s.

Only one against FCD. I’m soooo happy.

Out of sight, out of mind, apparently. But are we really surprised?

I think Rex is right, from my understanding this award is chosen purely from GotW winners.
