FC Dallas is poorly managed obviously. Their website says partial plans available on 11-3-09 and here we are the next day and it still says the same thing. Pretty basic, do what you say you will do. I can't imagine the cowboys screwing around with their ticket sales like FCD does. pretty basic

Who says anything about a stadium in South Dallas? Who says anything about having to sell a suite to the Hispanic community?

Let's not go from one extreme to another.

frisco gets a bad rap, but i doubt that you could sell very many season tickets to the hispanic community. 5400 for a suite in south dallas? thousands up front? nope, not by a long shot. You would be confined to cheap seats and hope to make up the volume. THE NUMBER 1 thing to put butts in the seats? A WINNING TEAM that is well marketed....

And yet Peter Wilt's WPS team was a basement dweller in terms of league attendance last season -- with a pretty inferior product on the field as well.

If the team were in downtown dallas and had the same attendance then all we would hear about is how the location is unsafe, and that the team needs to move to frisco. If the product was good then attendance would rise. Winning eliminates whining..

This is interesting, but really, as you point out Buzz, most of this is pretty much SOP for most businesses/organizations. That Wilt gave Lalas this blueprint makes sense because Lalas was a neophyte. It's almost criminal the way this side of the organization has consistently failed in reaching even the most minimal progress in filling the stands. And there's no use crying about the stadium location. At the end of the day, that no longer matters.

Is Wagner learning from mistakes? The mistake was not spending any money on anything. Even with all the new hires, I don't see any change there. (Or in Columbus or with the Chiefs, either)

As for ticket sales, I went through three reps in three years, all of whom were awesome, but I still haven't gotten a new rep since mine left near the beginning of last season. They're fortunate I'm one of the few, committed die-hards Wilt mentions in #2B.

I agree with Jefe. The Stars are the best parallel. You can't tell me Dallas is inherently more of a hockey town than a soccer town, but the Stars have more of both die-hards and casual fans.
