Holy crap…did you see the picture of the car? Surprised anyone survived.
If this happened 12 hours ago, why would US Soccer not have a post on it? Hope that does not indicate something bad.
Pray for that guy and the dead’s family.
Moose – where did you see a picture? I can’t find one

Update from Ives on nature of injuries:
” Charlie Davies is lucky to be alive, and the long list of injuries he suffered in a deadly car accident on late Monday evening provides the evidence.
Davies underwent five hours of surgery on Tuesday to repair the following: a lacerated bladder, fractures to the tibia and femur in his right leg, facial fractures and a left elbow fracture.
Davies had titanium rods in his tibia and femur with no complications. He will be hospitalized at least a week, with more surgeries to follow in order to stabilize his left elbow fracture and possibly his facial fractures.
“Injuries of this nature usually require a recovery period of six to 12 months and extensive rehabilitation,” said U.S. Soccer physician Dr. Dan Kalbac, who is with the team in D.C. and collaborated with the treating doctors. ”Due to Charlie’s fitness level, his prognosis for recovery and his ability to resume high-level competition is substantially improved.”
The news is devastating for Davies’ playing career, but the severity and number of injuries shows just how lucky Davies was to be alive after surviving a car crash that killed another passenger. “

I hate to look at it this way, but this makes a Cunningham call up more likely. With his speed, he is the one forward in the pool who could best emulate Davies’ type of contribution.
Granted, people will be nervous about his past character issues, but since the birth of his first child last year, he seems to have matured. If I were Bradley, I’d call him to some camps for friendlies, and see what he does.
If you want to send a note to Davies, according to Goff, “Stuart Holden posted on his Twitter page: “Ok guys u can send ALL your well wishes 2 Charlie, email charliedavies9@yahoo.com , they r printing all notes and bringing them 2 him! THX”"
Please pray for Ashley Roberta and her family. The loss of life is so much bigger than the game, and it is a tragic loss of life. She was a student at Tennessee and just graduated this year. It was great to see the USMNT and Landon Donovan pay tribute to her. I am glad that Charlie and the other gentleman in the car are doing better. But let us not forgot that Ashley left the world much to soon and her family and friends so suddenly, very tragic. God Bless.
