As a follow up to my hopes for a single table to kick in next year, I’ll now discuss the larger fear.

MLS Finally added a single table “playoff” tab to their standings page.
FCD’s Brek Shea scored in the 2-0 US win in their final tune up game.
In American football, teams often look to try to win the game on at least two of the “three” sides of the ball, offense, defense and special teams. Soccer, of course, is a much more free-flowing sport, but winning offense and defense is sometimes not enough to win a match. If soccer has a pointy-ball equivalent, it is the set-piece that comes closest to special teams. Poor play on set-pieces can and do cost teams matches.
A interesting document, FC Dallas Team Jersey Presentation, came across my desk earlier this year and I couldn’t really decide what to do with it. It’s a document FCD sent out to potential jerseys sponsors and it was eventually forwarded on to me b y one of them. I imagine through several hands before mine. Jerseys and the lack of a sponsor comes up a couple times a year and since it’s a hot topic again I decided rather than posting the document for people to download, since technically I don’t own the thing, I would just share some highlights of the presentation.
It’s a bit wet out, cloudy and overcast with sprinkles all session; just as it has been all week. The cool low 70s temps make for great training conditions. Hyndman says it’s been a terrific week. We’ll see if it translates to the KC game.
Support this great cause and get yourself a cool t-shirt.
Next summer that is, for the World Cup.
Here’s the local schedule so you can watch the four FCD kids in action.
