Mexico Roster for FCD Doubleheader

Mexico will be taking on Colombia in the 2nd game after FC Dallas faces the New England Revolution at 6 pm. Highlighting the Mexico roster is Barcelona’s Jonathan Dos Santos, the 19 year old younger brother of Giovani Dos Santos. Also in the team is the man many love to hate, goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, and a player I’ve always liked when I’ve seen him, Juan Carlos Cacho of Pachuca. JONATHAN DOS SANTOS OF FC BARCELONA, ALONG WITH STARS GUILLERMO OCHOA AND GERARDO TORRADO NAMED TO MEXICO’S ROSTER FOR SEPTEMBER 30 GAME AT COTTON BOWLMexico coach Javier Aguirre announces 18-man roster for game in Dallas vs. Colombia NEW YORK (Wednesday, September 23, 2009) – Mexican National Team head coach Javier Aguirre has named his 18-man roster for the upcoming international game against Colombia on Wednesday, September 30 (8:30 p.m. CT) at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX, as part of a historic doubleheader that will also feature FC Dallas vs. the New England Revolution in a MLS regular season match starting at 6 p.m. CT. The list includes the first call-up for 19 year old Jonathan Dos Santos, a rising star midfielder for Spanish powerhouse FC Barcelona, and younger brother of popular Mexico midfielder Giovanni Dos Santos. Also named were goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa of Club America, considered by many to be one the best young keepers in the world, and Cruz Azul’s gritty midfielder Gerardo Torrado. Mexico’s team is preparing for its upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifier against El Salvador, as it looks to secure a ticket to the finals in South Africa. The Dallas game represents the fifth match of Mexico’s 2009 U.S. tour. Colombia is scheduled to release its roster later this week. I’m a little bummed we are getting mostly the local players and not their “A” team. I would have liked to see Carlos Vela and Giovanni dos Santos, but I guess it is just a friendly so I can’t expect much. It will be interesting to see the younger dos Santos in action.
It is kinda disapponting to not see the “A” team. O well it will be a good match to watch.
