No Jason, the replay clearly shows that Torres did NOT touch him and that Quaranta DOVE. If any contact was made, which it appears there was not contact, it was Quaranta stepping on Torres foot which is NOT a foul on Torres.
Quaranta should get at least a 2 game suspension for this crap

You’re watching a slow motion replay of a player going full speed. Of course it’s going to look worse and more dramatic. However, that still shows Torres touched him and any contact would be enough to draw a call.

at the 8 second mark it look like IF there was any contact it was Quaranta stepping on Torres foot. No way did Torres “clip” his heel. And no way was the contact enought to cause the agonzing DIVE.

i don’t think that was a clip, it was a joke. a two year old wouldnt have gone down from that touch (if there was one). i think he was inspired by eduardo, no doubt.

guys….i’m a total FCD fan, however watch VERY carefully as i think Torres DOES clip his heel…..right at the 8 second marker of the clip

MLS needs to suspend him for at least two games as Eduardo was for his dive. Also Salazar needs to join hte 3 other now “ex” MLS referees on the unemployment line.

When I saw it live, it didn’t look like a dive as much as a clumsiness on Quaranta’s part. Still holding on to that, though I can’t argue that the angle here makes it look like a dive.

I don’t blame Quaranta at all. Pro players in every sport do what they can get away with. Like a defender tugging on a guys jersey when he’s trying to elevate to head a corner kick. That only happens 5 times every corner kick in MLS.

It’s the refs & the league. The league should fine Quaranta, the league should take some action against the ref (what is unclear, precedence you know; although they could start a new one).

Then the refs follow the league guidelines and the players follow the refs.
