It’s starting to look like the club is moving in the right direction. Harris and Benitez certainly look like good moves. We’ll have to wait and see on Chávez.
FCD wasted little time finalizing the loan deal of Honduran International Marvin Chávez from Marathon of Honduras after telling reporters just yesterday that no signing had taken place. Hyndman first spotted Chávez while watching ex-FCD’er and SMU alumni Ramon Nunez. Chávez is a attacking midfielder with some pace that capable of playing wide or centrally. Chávez has 18 caps for Honduras, four coming in the recent Gold Cup where he wore #10.
Maggie Hutchinson braved the heat to shoot the FC Dallas scrimmage against Central Arkansas on Monday. She was nice enough to again share her quality work with us.
I talked to Hyndman about it today.
According to FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman, the Red Stripes have not signed Honduran Marvin Chávez. Hyndman is well aware of Chávez as a player and FC Dallas did file a discovery on him. But Hyndman said at this point that no deal was in place for the Honduran International.
Two straight weeks of bliss for FC Dallas ended in a Columbus Crew defensive swarm Saturday night in Columbus as a 10th minute header from Chad Marshall and an 87th minute sealer from Eddie Gaven led the Crew to a 2-0 victory.
This is starting to look like a real move. The linked article has quotes from Chávez saying he’s signed a year and a half year loan with an option for FCD to purchase and will be traveling up Tuesday to Dallas. The article also indicates FCD scouted him at the Gold Cup. |
A report in Honduras has the Internatinal midfielder joining FCD.
ESPN Deportes just announced that the opponent for Mexico for the September 30th FCD double header is indeed Colombia.
