US Coach Salaries
August 21st, 2009 . 1:18 pm . By: Buzz CarrickGoff has dug up the salary numbers for the US coaches. First thought? Thomas Rongen is overpaid. Thoughts two and three? The Mexican Fed is a mess and Bruce Arena probably owes Bob Bradley a beer or two. Maybe even a steak. 8 Comments Comments RSS TrackBack Identifier URI Leave a comment |

“Bruce Arena probably owes Bob Bradley a beer or two. Maybe even a steak.”
Not sure I understand why. It looks like both salaries were pro-rated for the percentages of that “year”. Bruce for April 2006 -July 2006: 4 months. And Bob for the remaining 8 months.
Or maybe I’m missing something else in your comment.
Cause Bruce Arena earned $899,644 between April 2005 and March 2006 and that’s greater than from April 2007 to March 2008 when Bradley earned $452,500.
Actually I think Rongen’s salary is a bit low, opinions about his ability aside. I would have guessed a guy in his position made over 200k.
But Buzz, didn’t Arena take over in 1998? I would think he would have received some raises and bonuses along the way. Especially considering 2002.
You’re comparing that to Bradley’s first full year on the job.
how much does sh make? How about the other MLS coaches? How much does a top college soccer coach make?
No one knows with SH. Morrow and Clarke both made around $200k.
High end College coaches make more when you add camps and gear contracts.
Sure Rich. but double?
Buzz, that’s a good point. I guess I’d like to know what Arena’s first full year salary was, as a good comparison.
Also, remember that Gulati is now in charge of USSF. Maybe he has changed the salary structure.
