FCD Looked into Ronnie O’Brien

August 17th, 2009 . 3:17 pm . By: Buzz Carrick

I talked to Hyndman about O’Brien today, after I got tipped off about it.  Hyndman said they thought about adding Ronnie O’Brien, who he called an excellent player, but Hyndman said that San Jose still owned ROB’s rights and wanted to much in return for a player that isn’t currently playing anywhere.

So, is the idea that we buy a load of midfielders and those who aren’t starting anymore end up as our strikers? Is that the plan?

Although having O’Brien back would be awesome.

Love Ronnie O’Brien, I wish he would come back.

Thank goodness they didn’t sign that $^*&head. If they bring in any veterans, they should be character guys who will nurture all the kids. That ain’t ROB.

I’d take him in a heartbeat.. I don’t know how SJ can get away with asking a lot for a player that they wavied.

Yeah, bringing in a quality player we never should have let go would have been way to sensible for this organization.

Sell Cooper, sell Toja, have a big doubleheader at the Cotton Bowl…lots of $$$ in the Inbox. I don’t see it being spent on the team.

I’d take Ronnie back in a heart-beat. Even an out of shape Ronnie, at this point.

It would be great to have ROB back on the field, and I know he is movie back to the Dallas area at the end of this month. Would this still be an option if SJ is willing to negotiate? Interesting…..

Steve, ROB was good to the younger players. He often would stay after practice and work with some of them. He kind of thought he needed to be a mentor of sort. He’s a great guy and player, although retired I would love to have him be part of this team again.

    Do want ROB back.
Have increasingly hated FCD since his departure.

And the stupid striped jerseys and stadium in the middle of nowhere. ;)
