Cooper Transfer Fee

August 4th, 2009 . 5:40 pm . By: Buzz Carrick

Here’s what I hear.

Steve Davis, in his excellent op ed on Cooper, tells us “the transfer fee will be between $3-5 million, depending on incentives and sell-on clauses and such. ”

That matches what my sources in Dallas had told me, which is “more than $1 andless than $ 2 million up front and could go higher based on incentives.”

One can’t help but wonder if that $700k figure floating in German press is what Cooper is getting paid per season.  That would make sense to me.

$700k a year salary sounds about right to me, just a little more than FCD were paying him.
