No, apparently it’s someone’s fantasy team.
Yes, FC Dallas is unbeaten in seven of their last eight and are climbing the charts. In fact the team is only four points from fourth place and 10 from 2nd place. That certainly looks more hopeful that the dark cellar position that FCD fans have come to know this season.
Just a quick reminder FCD is traveling to Midland on Tuesday for a scrimmage against the West Texas United Sockers.
This was a must win game, although let’s be real – every home game is a must win game when you’re 13th in the standings, but New York was decimated by injures and is behind FCD in points. They had only scored one away goal all year. Even missing Cooper, this was a game for the taking. A loss in this one would have been devastating.
FC Dallas Striker JEff Cunningham’s two goals in two minutes outburst earned him the MLS Player of the Week nod. He is the first POW winner from FC Dallas this season. Beyond the two goals, Cunningham was terrific all game. He put in tremendous work and forced New York back on their heels all day. The intensity and energy seemed reminiscent of his early years in MLS.
Cunningham had a renewed intensity this week and it resulted in a brace against New York. Can he keep it going while Cooper is gone?
Go vote.
Dallas season second halves can be painful.
Just a little something to brighten your day.
