R.I.P. Sir Bobby Robson

July 31st, 2009 . 10:41 am . By: Buzz Carrick

The world of soccer has lost a great man as soccer legend Bobby Robson has passed.

Whether or not you are an Ipswich of Newcastle fan or not, Robson was a class act and he will be missed by the game.

A player at Fulham in the 1950’s, then West Brom and even Vancouver. Robson earned 20 caps for England. He started coaching at Fulham, but moved on to coach Ipswich, England, Eindhoven, Lisbon, Porto, Barcelona and Newcastle.

Robson was created a Knight Bachelor in 2002, was named Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in 1990, was a member of the English Football Hall of Fame, and was the honorary president of Ipswich Town.
