FCD Defeats Honduras

July 24th, 2009 . 2:42 am . By: Buzz Carrick

Ok, not really.  But with Clarence Goodson and Kenny Cooper scoring the two US goals it sure seemed like it.

The US won 2-0 to advance to the final of the Gold Cup.  Former FCD man Clarence Goodson opened the US scoring.  Current FCD striker Kenny Cooper notched the late insurance goal.

Best Cooper has looked for National Team. Expand on that KC and earn that last forward spot.

my thoughts exactly. if only we could have held onto Goodson, maybe our defense would not have had so many problems. I am glad that he is doing well in this tournament.

Best Cooper has looked for the Nats????? He was out there for 4 minutes! He scored a “bounce it off Mark Karpun” goal! I’m thrilled he scored, but calling a late cameo his best appearance is a little shaky….

Seriously though without the assist from the Dynamo Cooper wouldn’t have scored!

It is nice to see players from rival teams hugging it out when playing for the home country.
