I think that game did more for Goodson than Cooper imho. If his next 2 games are good I think he’ll move to a second round of looks for the World Cup, maybe to be on the bench.

Ives sure doesn’t like Cooper, based on his game commentary.

What does that make for kenny? 3 goals in about 120 minutes and 4 games for the US?

bored at work so answering my own questions. . . looks like Kenny has 3 starts 3 sub apps and 3 goals, couldn’t find minutes played

Ives is a New York Energy Drink Lover & Apologist and a hater of FC Dallas. Have you every read ANY of his stories/commentaries about FCD? I like his site and all, but he’s COMPLETELY Biased!

Ives finally had to move FCD, albeit begrudgingly, ahead of Energy Drink in his rankings a while back. Must have killed him to do that

Hate to agree with ives bcause he knows nothing and supports the worst team in MLS but our kenny was probably the worst player on the field. he couldn’t keep the ball and had trouble connecting with anyone. Great penalty and did well to put us on to the semis but do not plan on seeing him get in after that game.

Ehh, I like Ives, even got to write for him a bit. I think, if anything, he’s rather quick to come down hard on NYRB. It’s not that hard this year, they’re horrid. The fan base though, turns on a dime. Couple months ago everyone loved Cooper, now, they say he’s worthless. Go figure.

BTW, is it just me, or has Cooper turned in to one of the best penalty takers in the league?

What puzzles me is that Ives criticized Coop for taking shots. In extra time, I think that’s pretty much needed. I saw Logan Pause launch a prayer in extra time, but Ives didn’t condemn that. So, yeah, he’s biased. And wrong about Cooper to boot.

kudos to coop for taking a kick for the team and sinking the game winner. but i agree, not much else from him. But he is what he is.. it will be interesting to see who is interested in him in europe

Did Arnaud do much when he was in the game? I sure didn’t see much. It will be interesting to see if Bradley brings back Altidore (who I believe is on the expanded roster). Can’t see the US going much further without some additional firepower.

I think the problem with Cooper launching to many shots is that he’s not used to his club teammates getting into good positions, so he has to shoot away. He needs to go to a European club where he can learn to play with top-to-bottom quality teammates.

Goodson looked really good and makes you think what our backline would look like with him in the center winner everything, organizing and starting the attack by completing passes.

Coooper played better this game but still needs improvement.
