Rudis Corrales Linked to FCD
July 14th, 2009 . 1:05 pm . By: Buzz CarrickHe’s a 29-year old Salvadoran forward who currently plays for Salvadoran club Águila. This article, according to one translator, says FCD asked about him. It also says Águila will play a friendly against FC Dallas, perhaps in order to scout Corrales (but probably also as part of the continued series of friendlies in lieu of reserve games). The article also mentions a possible strategic partnership between Águila and FC Dallas Corrales was on the El Salvador roster for the Gold Cup. He played in all three opening round games with one start and two sub appearances. Corrales did not score any goals and El Salvador did not advance to the second round. There was a agent representing three unknown Salvadorian players at FC Dallas training this week. Perhaps Corrales is one of them. Here’s a highlight video of his work. Edit: Under the small world heading… In 1990 Ellinger coached the first six games of the year for the Washington Diplomats (he was coaching a college team and NCAA said he couldn’t do both). Rudis’ father Salvador Corrales was on that Diplomats team. Rudis’ brother, Salvador Corrales is also on the El Salvador national team. 7 Comments Comments RSS TrackBack Identifier URI Leave a comment |

Whats your take on him Buzz? From the highlights he looks like an aggressive player, something I’d like to see from FCD.
He certainly looks like the kind of high striker/goal poacher FCD could use.
But it can be so hard to know from a highlight video. What level was this all against?
Willingness to work and play defense will mean a lot when you’re talking about playing for Hyndman.
Just have to wait and see I guess.
Other MLS Rumor, Pavel Nedved in talks with US clubs:

Don’t know if I’d be crazy about him for FCD, since I don’t think it’s quite the right time to wave the white flag on Ferreira.
It is very difficult to tell a lot from highlights, where the level of competition is questionable. On the plus side…a lot of goals scored off headers from wing crosses (Dave Vandenberg would be happy), but on the negative side, the defenses shown here are not impressive, certainly not anything resembling the physical CB brutes of MLS (e.g., Houston, Chicago, Columbus come to mind).
Steve, Nedved is not a name I’ve heard in a Dallas connection, he’s also not the kind of player the Hunts or SH would go for IMO.
Rudis….Rudis……Rudis……
Nedved would be a great player for MLS
