Scrimamge Tuesday in Midland

Just a quick reminder FCD is traveling to Midland on Tuesday for a scrimmage against the West Texas United Sockers. FCD previously defeated West Texas United 3-0 on June 2nd at Pizza Hut Park.

3rd Degree is planning to be there and should have a match report for you the next day.

FC DALLAS TO VISIT MIDLAND ON JULY 7 FOR EXHIBITION VERSUS WEST TEXAS UNITED SOCKERS

FRISCO, TX (Monday, June 1, 2009) – FC Dallas and the West Texas United Sockers announced today that the teams will meet in an exhibition match at Grande Communications Stadium in Midland, Texas on Tuesday, July 7 at 7:30 p.m. CT. The West Texas United Sockers compete in the Mid-South Division of the Premier Development League (PDL), and FC Dallas’ visit will mark the first trip by an MLS team to the Permian Basin, where the PDL team calls home.

“FC Dallas has many fans in the Permian Basin and we consider this area to be an important market for the success of our franchise in the years to come,” FC Dallas General Manager Michael Hitchcock said. “We are very excited to be the first MLS team to play a match in West Texas, and we look forward to facing the Sockers.”

The exhibition match in Midland will be the second of two meetings between the clubs this year, with the teams set to meet in Frisco at Pizza Hut Park Field 4 on Tuesday, June 2 at 7 p.m. CT (open to the public). FC Dallas will resume regular season play on Sunday, June 7 at Pizza Hut Park versus the San Jose Earthquakes (2 p.m. CT live on KFWD-52 / TeleFutura).
