ESPN.com has a well researched and written article about Eric Avila’s former UCSB teammate Eric Frimpong by Sam Alipour. It’s a controversial topic and a fascinating read.

Good God. I know how things can be twisted in print, but it sounds like there’s enough holes in that case to drive a truck through. How on Earth was a jury persuaded to convict him? I don’t dare speculate on his actual guilt or innocence, but I don’t see how the prosecution managed to get a conviction.

    That is heartbreaking.

Seriously, an all-white jury in a RAPE case against an immigrant? MAJOR voir dire fail. I’m especially surprised because in most rape cases, rulings fall in favor of the accused. Very, very sad.

I saw this and was shocked at the amount of evidence in the kids favor. Maybe we are not getting the entire story but from that article points out it is pretty crazy they found him guilty. Hope things work out.
