And Then There Was One

June 22nd, 2009 . 12:59 pm . By: Buzz Carrick

When there used to be five FCD players going to every US U20 camp, now there is only one: Peri Marosevic.  Marosevic has left FCD this week to join  Thomas Rongen’s U20s for two matches in Egypt.

The other four, who are all almost certainly in the U20 team that will go to the Worlds, are playing to important a role for FCD right now to leave.

Josh Lambo remains #2 with Dario Sala still out and is needed every game.

Anthony Wallace is now the starter at left back having beaten out Blake Wagner.

Kyle Davies has become the starter at center back with Steve Purdy, George John, and Daniel Torres all injures.

And Brek Shea, sometimes starter, and frequent game changing force off the bench is too important to let go at this time.

As the U20 players become more important their absence will hurt more. Forward is especially thin if Marosovic and Shea are gone.
