Confirmed List of Participants in Soccer Tribute Match

Confirmed from the Dallas Tornado are Bobby Moffat, Freddy Garcia, and Zequinha among others. From the Dallas Sidekicks are David Doyle, Wilco Ravestijn, and Tatu. Taking the field from the Burn era are Chad Deering, Richard Farrer, Oscar Pareja, Brandon Pollard, and “Zarco” Rodriguez. Here’s the full details and the rest of the names. SIDEKICKS GREAT TATU TO PARTICIPATE IN INAUGURAL DALLAS SOCCER TRIBUTE MATCH1310 THE TICKET’S “BaD RADIO” HOSTS TO SERVE AS HONORARY COACHES FRISCO, TX (Wednesday, June 10, 2009) – FC Dallas today announced that former Dallas Sidekicks forward Tatu will headline the participants for the inaugural Dallas Soccer Tribute Match at Pizza Hut Park on Saturday, June 13 (5:15 p.m. CT). Bob Sturm, Dan McDowell and Donovan Lewis from Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket’s “BaD Radio” show will serve as honorary coaches at the Tribute Match which will be held on the stadium field prior to the FC Dallas game against the Houston Dynamo at 7:30 p.m. Tatu, full name Antonio Carlos Pecorari, starred for the Dallas Sidekicks from 1984-2003 and was part of all four of the team’s national championships (1987, 1993, 1998, 2001). The Brazilian scored 712 goals and recorded 622 assists in his time with the team. In 1998, he assumed the role as head coach of the Sidekicks, winning both the most valuable player and coach of the year awards while guiding the team to the national title. In 2005, Tatu was inducted into the inaugural class of the Texans Credit Union Walk of Fame at Pizza Hut Park for his contributions to the sport of soccer in Texas. The Dallas Soccer Tribute Match kicks off at 5:15 p.m. Saturday at Pizza Hut Park, and will honor all past Dallas professional soccer players including those that played for the Dallas Tornado (North American Soccer League), Dallas Sidekicks (Major Indoor Soccer League), and Dallas Burn / FC Dallas (Major League Soccer). Previously announced players include Bobby Moffat (Dallas Tornado); David Doyle and Terry Woodberry (Dallas Sidekicks); Oscar Pareja, Jorge “Zarco” Rodriguez, Chad Deering and Bobby Rhine (Dallas Burn / FC Dallas).
