Oduro Traded to Houston

May 27th, 2009 . 9:44 pm . By: Buzz Carrick

Can Houston handle two Doms?

Old FC Dallas friend Dominic Oduro is on his way to the Dynamo.

The shock of the deal isn’t that New York may have given up on Dom so fast after perusing him for as long as they did.  The shock is that Houston gave up a first and a second round pick for a player that had made only three appearances this season for the last place team in the East.

Given Houston’s track record for taking other team’s players and having them succeed, does anyone doubt this one just might work out too?  Houston has a system in place and one component of that is a speedy flying striker to play off Brian Ching.  Kai Kamara hasn’t excelled in that role this season and Dominic Kinnear may be looking for more options.

Either that or he wanted to bring someone to his club that shared a name.

I doubt this one just might work out too. Unless Houston possesses a magical wand that corrects shite finishing skills, Oduro will still be Oduro.

Torres and Purdy both just pulled hamstrings thinking about it….

Strange deal, I think, from RBNY perspective. Considering they still haven’t found a consistent partner for Angel (I love the guy as a late game sub, but no way Wolyniec, who started their last game, is that guy), why not give Oduro more of a chance there? He wasn’t even getting off the bench in late game situations when they were trailing. Also, considering the prevailing feeling in NY about Osorio (if it’s not a hot seat, it’s at least a bit warm), odd that they didn’t get someone for Oduro who could help right now.

As it relates to Houston, might as well just put one for Oduro in his first game v FCD in the books now. Gotta come back to bite us in the arse somehow.

    WWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I am so excitied that Dom is now playing in Houston.
RBNY coach was just stupid, the team has been playing horriby especially Angel yet he didn’t want to change the lineup to let Oduro.
This is just great! I want Oduro to score time and time again against everyone especially Dallas.
I would enjoy the look on Schellas’s face hahaha so sweet!

So Oduro’s value is equal to DVB which is equal to a first and second round draft pick? Wow.

Definitely makes it clear that FCD’s biggest win of the year so far was that trade.

Kamara for 60, Dom for 30+

Unlike SH, Kinnear has a system in place, knows what he wants, and uses role players to play it.

Who knows what RBNY is thinking, and who cares.

Great to see Dom get a new lease on life. Can’t question his heart, he should fit in well in Houston.
