Pitchkolan to San Jose

April 28th, 2009 . 3:32 pm . By: Buzz Carrick

3rd Degree has been able to confirm with our sources that Aaron Pitchkolan is going to be traded to San Jose to make room on the FC Dallas roster for Kyle Davies.  Pitchkolan isn’t a surprise trade since he had seen little time with the first team this spring.

Pitchkolan had played fairly well late last year subbing for the injured Duilio Davino, but immediately lost his spot upon Davio’s recovery.  Pitchkolan’s form had dipped since that time and his lack of playing time and now subsequent trade is a not unforeseen result.

Update: Trade Official.

FC DALLAS ACQUIRES A CONDITIONAL DRAFT PICK FROM SAN JOSE IN EXCHANGE FOR AARON PITCHKOLAN

FRISCO, Texas (Tuesday, April 28, 2009) – FC Dallas General Manager Michael Hitchcock announced today that the team has acquired a conditional pick in the 2011 SuperDraft from the San Jose Earthquakes in exchange for defender Aaron Pitchkolan.

If Pitchkolan starts at least 12 of San Jose’s remaining games during the 2009 season, FCD will receive a third round pick from the Earthquakes. Otherwise, Dallas will receive a fourth round selection.

The 26-year-old started 41 of 68 games during his five years at FC Dallas, totaling five goals and one assist. Pitchkolan made one appearance for FCD in 2009, entering the March 29 game versus Chivas USA as a halftime substitute.

Any word on what for? A draft pick? Cash?

Pitch, good luck to you. You’ve been a consummate professional.

I guess there won’t be a “Pitch Wig Night” after all…

I wonder why we let Aaron go but keep Torres, who really does not look up to the job. Pitch was starting to look pretty solid towards the end of last year….I wonder what the rationale is here? Perhaps SJ was not interested in giving away any draft picks for Torres?

We did not have to offer much here did we….a 4th round draft pick two years from now!?

I missed something, when did we get Davies?

Pitch has to be very happy to leave this sinking ship and going to a class organization.

Is SJ FCD’s dumping ground for players? ;-)

Sorry to see you go Pitch. Good luck!

Pony, see previous article on this site.

    Doug, see update.

Robert, since FCD was going to have to cut someone, possibly Pitch, a 4th round pick is about all you are going to get.

Robert – SJ has no interest in Torres. Nor does any other MLS team. He’s a platinum member of club Jellinger.
