More Random Thoughts

This is an idea I can get behind. Isn’t Opening Day still a good 11 days away? That’s enough of an excuse for me. I can’t remember the last time I planned something that far in advance. In fact, it was probably my wedding. Watching Manchester United destroy Fulham in the FA Cup Quarterfinal last weekend reminded me of the time my over-30 team played a bunch of college kids. After a while, pride is overtaken and beaten to death by fatigue and discouragement. I was proud to note that this did not apply to Clint Dempsey, however, who was a gamer right up to the final whistle. Manchester United is getting scary. If they were in the United States, the Justice Department would have to sue them under the anti-trust act for creating a monopoly. As always, I view this phenomenon not with glee, but with grudging respect and admiration. I just love to watch them play, even though I’ll never be able to bring myself to root for them. Eddie Johnson scored for Cardiff. Finally. Maybe Fulham will bring him back for the rest of the season and he’ll save the day in a final-day fairy-tale relegation-staving goal worthy of a Disney Flick. But probably not. I see that Dema Kovalenko signed for the Galaxy over the winter, in case you were running out of reasons to hate the Galaxy. This, I believe, is the real reason Beckham doesn’t want to come back from Italy. 2 Comments Comments RSS TrackBack Identifier URI Leave a comment |

Thanks DJ. The thought of Dema possibly wreaking havoc on the Gal’s training ground brought a smile to my face. Saw some of the Gals on their Pan-Pacific money grab and even though it was a meaningless game, Dema played like he always does–cheap.
for all you negative people out there, remember this is one of the worst weekends for opening day, or any game as all the schools are on Spring Break…..helloooooo
