Paradigm Shift
March 5th, 2009 . 10:07 am . By: Buzz CarrickThis has nothing to do with soccer. But this is the forum I have so I’m using it to share something. If you aren’t aware I work in television, and of course I run this little site. I even did radio for the FCD soccer show a couple seasons. So I’m involved in media of several forms on various levels You ever come across a piece of art that changes the way you look at things? Someone else’s work that makes you want to re-think the way you work? I felt that way when I saw Memento for example with it’s backward story telling method. This link http://thru-you.com/ (click play), for me, is one of those things. Impressive, stunning, and mind-blowing were the thoughts that ran through my head and that was just in the first song. A worst it’s an interesting use of YouTube, at best a new kind of collaborative art. (I have no idea if he invented this specefic YouTube compilation thing) I don’t think I’ll ever look at YouTube, music, and maybe even video the same way ever again. 6 Comments Comments RSS TrackBack Identifier URI Leave a comment |

Wow.
I think paradigm shift is going a bit too far. This kind of usage of multiple media to stitch together a new piece of art isn’t terribly new. Multi-media artists have been doing this stuff for years with video and music. It’s a very good job by whomever did it….well edited. Proving that editing is truly an artform and one of the least appreciated aspects of film production.
Not arts paradigm shift. Mine.
Buzz, thanks for sharing. It’s pretty amazing stuff, at least to me. I especially liked No. 6.
two thumbs up!
thanks for sharing a ’special moment’ – light bulbs going off, paradigm shifts, and those ah-ha moments are what make life interesting
texgator – reading comprehension?? giggle
Chazsoccer, don’t worry about Texgator, he’s just that type of guy that has to out-do everyone, and prove he’s been there, done that and knows more about anything and everything.
Kinda like Buzz’s own Cliff Claven. Just ignore him like Sam and Norm used to.
