For the right price you coudl see why Dallas might have been interested in Gomez. I think it looks like a great fit….if the deal could be worked out. Is Hydnman perhaps playign hardball with Colorado? The Rapids bovsiouly want rid…and with an apparent lack of interest, could be had for a song…

The top two candidates are South American, although it’s unclear where they are playing. Frankly we don’t know much yet.

Good analysis. FC Dallas really filled a lot of wholes at the backline and the Dave Van Deberg acquisition was huge. Buzz, who do you think FC Dallas will target to play the CAM position? Will they go South American ie Brazil or Argentina? Europe? It would be interesting to know your thoughts on their next CAM acquistion. Thanks!!

fantastic piece, I shared it with some causal fans who have been out of the loop for a while because it’s very accessible but still very informative.

but wouldn’t the “move underused assets” part of the checklist warrant a “needs work” label rather than “done,” since Dax is a major underused asset who hasn’t been moved?

I can’t believe how Dax has been treated. It really puts a bad taste in mymouth! He was such an intense player, clearly more deserving of a starting spot over Guarda. The whole thing pisses me off!

I’d love him there. I like him even better as an understudy to VDB. For me LM is the ideal spot.

The trick however is figuring out where SH likes him.

Buzz: any thought of working Brek at one of the outside backs? This is an area where the U.S. has historically been weak. With his skill and size, he could find a very lucrative home.
