The Balc award for killing your cahnce to me was clearly Yohance Marshall. He was horrific. I’m not shocked he got passed over. I’d have been shocked if he got picked.

I read everything on this site pre-draft, and everything on ESPN’s site. I also read everything Buzz has said about SH and all the quotes from SH he’s related to us here, over the year.

What I really like about SH is that he’s putting a system in place and filling it with players that fit his system. For example, this is what a Left Midfielder should be able to do, Dave vdH is a true LM, let’s get him.

So, where previously, we seemed to collect lots of talent that couldn’t function as a team (Nunez anyone – and others); SH is building a team!

To this end I give the draft higher marks than Buzz, his quote says it all “Given the talent available my complaints are minor and the long run fit for the coach is higher the way they went.”. In any team sport you need players that fit a system. That’s the best road to success.

1. add defenders (depth/starter) – eh (depth, but not sure about starter just yet)
2. add veteran left winger – check
3. add frontline help – eh (sort of, although very young and inexperienced)
4. add #10 – n/a
5. add more veteran help – n/a

so far, i like the moves…but, i won’t be overly optimistic. SH did say he expects us to be .500 team before going .750. other than VDB and jeff cunningham for the entire season, there really hasn’t been anything different.

Buzz – in addition to your Rolfe-crush award, you should add a Xavier Balc award for the player who killed himself at the combine.

I can easily live with the first round picks, but like you said Buzz – we needed a burner up top. I was really hoping we took Seabrook with our second rounder. (Also noteworthy is that Angus and Marshall were 1st round prospects who didn’t get drafted at all – interesting. People must have been annoyed as hell hearing that englishmen yell at everybody IMO)

As of post Draft there was no deal in place for Dax. If he’s going anywhere it was done today.

And as for NY specifically, the deal as announced is complete. If there is someone going to NY it’s a second deal of some kind.
