One is a backup forward. The other will be a starting wide midfielder. FCD should be very much better for this trade, for many reasons already noted here. Good luck to Dom in the future, but this is a good deal for FCD now - and that is what matters to most of us here: the best interests of the team. If you're only going to games because some of the guys play ball with your kids, then that's too bad. Your prerogative, though. But count me as one who's more concerned with the team than with individuals. I love this deal because FCD managed to likely upgrade the talent level while fulfilling a need. I don't expect deals like this to keep falling in their laps, but at least they had the good sense to not mess it up. I hope FCD can find a good suitor for Dax that has an extra center back or some allocation they can use to go get a center back. He's a class player and I wish him the best.
