Cooper and Moor Recalled to US Camp
November 12th, 2008 . By: Buzz CarrickIn what to many obserers has been a long time coming, Keeny Cooper has been recalled by Bob Braldey for the US Naitonal team along with teammate Drwe Moor. Cooper will perhaps be dissapointed it’s ina camp made up mostly of MLS’ers who’s teams have been eliminated, but the chances to impress on the national stage have been few and far between for Cooper. This is an opportunity he needs to take adantage of. Here’s the press release… FCD’S KENNY COOPER AND DREW MOOR CALLED IN TO U.S. MEN’S NATIONAL TEAM CAMPFRISCO, Texas (Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008) — FC Dallas forward Kenny Cooper and defender Drew Moor have been called in by U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Bob Bradley for training camp in Colorado from Nov. 12-16. The 19-player camp is comprised mostly of MLS players who have completed the 2008 season. Cooper, FCD’s 2008 Team MVP and leading scorer, has made two previous appearances with the U.S. National Team. The 24-year-old scored in his National Team debut against Denmark on January 20, 2007, and made his last appearance versus Guatemala on March 28, 2007 at Pizza Hut Park. Following the completion of the camp and the next round of club matches, Bradley will announce the roster that will train in advance of the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Guatemala that is scheduled for Nov. 19 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado. Kickoff for the USA’s first-ever World Cup qualifier in Colorado is set for 7 p.m. CT, and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and Galavision. Kenny and Drew are quality guys. They have egos, for sure, but you never hear them complain about anything. They just give you their all, every game. Nice to see our two local boys get more National team opportunities. They deserve it.
I don’t see any comments on the former Dallas player Cory Gibbs. If I remember he didn’t really sell out for the shirt and only used us to be seen by Arena. I think we missed the po’s in his one season. Okay I see why no mention.
herdmentality: you must be joking! Have you ever met Kenny or Drew? They are about as far from egotistical as you can get. Kenny especially is a very humble person.
