October 21st, 2008 . 7:00 pm . By: Buzz CarrickWe knew Saragosa was playing hurt, but not to this extent. FCD announced today that Marcel Saragosa has undergone an operation on his meniscus for the second straight season. Saragosa apparently has opted for the longer term recovery operation that is better for his long term health. If all goes as schedule he will be back for next season. This is the same right knee that the Brazilian injured last year. One can’t help but wonder how this will impact his protection or not in terms of the expansion draft. And did anyone realize Saragosa had started 23 games? Dang. Here’s the PR stuff… MARCELO SARAGOSA UNDERGOES MENISCUS SURGERYFRISCO, Texas (Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008) – FC Dallas midfielder Marcelo Saragosa today underwent surgery to repair the torn medial meniscus in his right knee. He is expected to be out of action for 3-4 months. Saragosa started 23 of the 25 games in which he appeared in this season, which were the most for the Brazilian since he started 24 of 26 games as a member of the LA Galaxy in 2004. Saragosa had surgery on the lateral meniscus in the same knee in September of 2007. 4 Comments Comments RSS TrackBack Identifier URI Leave a comment |

:O wow…
didn’t Brek just have this same surgery?
We can rebuild him. We have the technology. He’ll come back better, faster, stronger. (We hope.)
Get well soon, Saragosa — the “Brazilian Triangle” just won’t be the same without you.
The player the fans don’t favor but every coach certainly does.
MS is a gutsy guy who played hurt all year. He has carried this around for a while and never said a word. Classy guy.
