No, it would fail under the guise of "delaying a restart". If the ref wanted to call Saragosa for walking in front of the ball on the free kick he would have given him the yellow for "delaying a restart". Generally a ref won't make that call unless he has already given warnings for such actions. However he (the ref) did NOT make that call. Instead he made a lame call on Saragosa the altercation with the hack from RSL.

I have to say that consistently Serioux, Dax and Ricchetti always seem to care and give their best. It escapes me why SH would play Guarda over any other midfielder! The dude just isn't that good yet. He is definitely not starting material. SH really needs to pull his head out and see what everyone else see's. Seriously, who starts an untested college kid over an Olympic athlete? And for more than one game? At some point shouldn't you realize as a coach..."Hey, wait a second, I have an Olympic soccer player sitting on the bench. Maybe I should play him over the guy that isn't that good." Give me a break. I'm not just talking about the this game; but also the last, what, four games.

spotbeam29 said, "Saragosa deserved his first yellow because he got in the way and delayed the restart."

WRONG!

DAL -- Marcelo Saragosa (caution; Unsporting Behavior) 22

"Unsporting behavior" NOT "Delaying a restart"

It was a crap card.

FCD just needs a good coach and a few years of patience. CC wasn't all that bad. Under him we were consistently competitive. SM probably didn't deserve the ax after one atrocious game. SH? Well, I personally do not see it, but he should get at least one full season from start to finish before any serious talk about replacing him. What kind of coach would want to come to Dallas if they can expect to get the ole "one & done" routine?

As has been discussed, Davino was probably signed to appeal to the Hispanic fan base. Those signings almost never pan out in MLS (see: Chivas USA's first season). Now what we're stuck with next year is an average-sized, very slow 33-year-old center back in a league full of strikers either faster, bigger, or both, who draws a salary that could buy a much better player at his position and probably another position as well. $400k can go pretty far in MLS if spent correctly.

I think it's safe to say that all fans, no matter what nationality, just want to see a team that:
1) plays hard,
2) is fun to watch, and
3) is run by competent people that want nothing more than to win.

It's that last factor that most everyone has a problem with right now. Say what you want about Colin Clarke's playoff failures, but he put together a team that won games and was fun to root for. You never questioned Clarke's desire to win, and you generally saw the logic in his personnel decisions - the best players played. On top of that, Clarke dealt with his team quite well, and he had two serious head cases in Ruiz and O'Brien.

As a result of all these factors, the fans came out. Compare that to today - how bad would average attendance at PHP be if not for the Beckham games? I initially wasn't with most people on this, but after some thought I agree - something has to change in management, or FCD's going to have a bunch of disillusioned people at the heart of the fanbase.

Saragosa deserved his second yellow because he swung his arm in an unnecessarily high arc. Ross Paule, Esky, Josh Gros, in matches, David Wagenfuhr in practice. concussions. and there's more I'm not thinking of right now. Stott good.

I find it interesting that last year the club sat Denilson for lack of production. This year, Davino continues to play. Not sure what comment I'm attempting to make here, but apparently salary didn't matter last year, so why would it this year? Is it really the Hunt's and SH pushing that? I'd find that hard to believe but who knows? But my lasting memories of this season will be Dax being thrown away, Guarda over Avi, Davino over Pitch, and Saragosa over anyone.

Saragosa deserved his first yellow because he got in the way and delayed the restart. Justice (the taking of the free kick) delayed is justice denied. and I'm a Dema hater.
