Congratulations Clarke

September 6th, 2008 . By: Buzz Carrick

Well done by an ex-FCD coach.  Colin Clarke led his first place USL Puerto Rico Islanders into the group stage of the CONCACAF Champions League by knocking off a strong Costa Rican club Alajuelense.

After drawing in the first leg the Islanders trailed most of the second led before rallying with two goals in the later stages by Kendall Jagdeosingh and Taiwo Atieno.

You might recognize a couple of Clarke’s player from MLS, like Bill Guadette and Osei Telesford, but FCD fans will be even more familiar with two of the PRI starters Scott Jones and Edwin Miranda, as we as Sandy Gbandi coming off the bench.
