Following up on the incredible run of the Puerto Rico Islanders, they have now won the USL-1 Commissioner’s Cup as regular season champions.

Congrats to Colin Clarke and ex-FCD’ers Sandy Gbandi, Scott Jones, and Edwin Miranda.

Winning the regular season gives PRI a by in the first round of the USL playoffs, they will face the lowest remaining seed in the second round.

Edwin Miranda? When was he at FCD?

PR plays a nice brand of soccer. Watched a couple of their CC games.

Miranda was drafted by Clarke in 2004 and spent about 2 months with FCD in the spring before being one of the final cuts. So while he never played in the regular season for FCD he did wear a FCD uniform and play in a bunch of spring games against various opposition.

Wow… a Championship. Could have CC been as accomplished had he remained with FCD?

They played aquaball last night. At times you couldn’t even see the game because there was so much rain.
