Rowland Signed, Daniels Promoted
September 13th, 2008 . 12:07 pm . By: Buzz CarrickFC Dallas has announced today via their blog that they have promoted Andrew Daniels to the senior roster and signed New Mexico alumni Jeff Rowland to the developmental roster. Rowland twice made the Real Salt Lake squad under Ellinger only to be injured and lose out both times. Most recently Rowland has been playing with Wilmington Hammerheads of the USL Second Division. With the Rowland signing and Daniels promotion, FCD now has a full 28 man roster. One interesting point about the Daniels promotion is that he was promoted already once this year back in May. Apparently when Schellas Hyndman ended Ray Burse Jr’s loan with Portland, Burse was moved back to the senior roster and Daniels was dropped back down without FCD telling anyone. So now with the trade of Abe Thompson there is room for Daniels to return. Daniels promotion almost certainly means FCD won’t be adding any more players via free agent signing as they would immediately have to demote Daniels again. It’ still possible a player for player trade could happen by next week’s roster freeze on the 15th. Also of note, David Wagenfuhr has apparently never been on season ending injured reserve this year and only on temporarily IR from time to time and thus remains on the senior roster. 8 Comments Comments RSS TrackBack Identifier URI Leave a comment |

I really what the excitement earlier this week was about. Something must have fallen through. The could still extend Cooper’s deal, though.
SH is obviously listening to Ellinger so that should help get him fired quicker.
well said tex. I agree, in spirit.
I disagree with the Daniels promotion. I believe there other worthy players. The guy keeps getting promoted, for what reason?
Wow. We get all the crap Ellinger brought to Real Salt Lake… it is like getting served left overs from a taco truck when you really want fresh, deliciously, and hot dinner from Joe T. Garcia’s (or perhaps Mercado Juarez mi favorito).
Hear that noise?
It’s the Besagno express coming to town.
I wish Rowland still had the moustache he sported in the NCAA’s. That was worth a development contract in itself.
I’m too lazy but a list of players brought into the team by SH and a list of exited players would make it pretty obvious why we suck.
Letting world-class players leave and replacing them with developmental players (the coach’s pets) will cause you to lose on a regular basis…kind of like right NOW.
Ellinger and Hyndman are stocking the team with ex-SMU and RSL flameouts….not exactly a way to build a championship roster. Okay, Guarda has upside, but starting him just shows how blinkered their vision is….
