Yannick Reyering Surfaces
August 22nd, 2008 . 7:34 am . By: Buzz CarrickA couple reports have surfaced and it looks like Yannick Reyering will be kicking for UVa this fall. In case you don’t know who Reyering is, he was drafted by FC Dallas in the last MLS SuperDraft in the 6th round. The 6′5″ German striker was quite successful in the tough as nails ACC with 39 goals, 15 of which are game winners, and 19 assists over three seasons but injured his knee late in his final season and wasn’t healthy enough to compete with FC Dallas for a roster spot. Schellas Hyndman says Reyering will come out next spring for a spot, but clearly now that will be contingent on him not making a career out of kicking, perhaps in the NFL. Reyering, a two time first-team All-ACC forward, needed reconstructive knee surgery after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament late in the 2007 season but still led the Cavs in scoring. 5 Comments Comments RSS TrackBack Identifier URI Leave a comment |

How many kickers make it to the NFL per year? 2-3…maybe 5. There’s 32 NFL teams, each carry 2 kickers. Kickers have a LONG career, many play well into their late 30’s. There are over 110 NCAA Div 1 teams, all with 2-3 kickers on the roster. Honestly, the chances aren’t all that great that he’ll be able to make this into a career unless he’s simply AMAZING at it.
In other news rumors are out stating Dom is in the eye of RBNY.

Here’s a link that works a little better for the Dom story.

Doesn’t sound too hopeful about coming back to soccer.
