has there been any official word on how much the transfer fee was in the end?

  2. Comment by hutchtx on August 17, 2008 11:20 AM

On one Romanian website, it listed the fee as 750,000 euros for a four-year contract. Another (http://www.stelisti.ro/stiri/6784/transferurile-stelei.htm) lists it as 850,000 euros.

BTW, that video is from the Champions League game on Aug. 13th. He played in his first League game yesterday (the 16th) and had an assist in the fourth minute.

Why couldn’t he do that for us?

I will point out that he — like the entire team –started playing well under Hyndman. Take a look at his last game with FC Dallas, the Colorado game,July 19th, which is also a game where the entire team really seemed to be “on the bus,” outside of two defensive hiccups, they played well. And they’ve been playing well, overall, since then. (and since the entire transfer was still in the air back then, his improved play cannot be “blamed” on him knowing he was leaving, because he didn’t know at that point.)

People can believe what they want or think they know. It’s happened, and I’ve come to think that it was a good move for all. FCD was right to transfer him and keep Kenny. And given how FC Dallas has performed lately, the teas is certainly on the right track! So I’m happy for both FC Dallas and for Toja.

Oh, and here is more video: :)

P.S. Yes, I am an over-the-edge Toja fan (¡totalmente loca, se puede decir!), but I’m also still a diehard Dallas fan. Go, HOOPS!

I think it is GREAT we still are covering some of his games because it shows we miss him.

Does anyone know how to get access to see these games?

    The true “fanatica” knows.

The league games are sometimes streamed thtrough their match tracker, which is on this website:

P.S. It’s actually interesting learning about new leagues. I did this last year (did tons of research, that is) because I knew nothing about Champions League or Serie A, etc. back then.

    *Sigh*

Sad to remember what Toja played like when he actually cared about his team.

A lot of people actually do know what happened, Hutch. Your revisionist efforts won’t change the impact Toja’s problems had on the club and his teammates this season. But you’re right about one thing: It was a good idea to sell him. The team is better without him for many reasons, as crazy as it would have sounded a year ago.

    Wynn -

Hi – Are you someone ‘in the know’ or a personal friend? Or just someone who has paid attention to the many rumblings about the situation? I ask because I am not sure how to take your post.

I will withhold my comments until I have a frame of reference for yours.

I know about the match tracker but I want to watch it live. Anyone know how to make that happen?

  10. Comment by hutchtx on August 18, 2008 12:27 PM

    Toja Fan,

If there is a live stream, it will broadcast through the match tracker on gsptv.ro. :) On Saturday, the “live video” didn’t show up until about 30 minutes before the game was set to start. Unfortunately, I was at work, checking the match tracker through my phone, so the video was useless.

If there are other options, someone will post them on the Big Soccer Board, I’m sure.
