After that performance, though a win, hopefully Dax will get a shot. He was the best player in the qualifiers for maintaining possession, and unfortunately the US lost that battle B-A-D against Japan. We should have lost 3-1 or even 5-1 given the chances that Japan managed to ‘Eddie Johnson’ up.

Dax makes teams look more composed on the field. I think he’s great in the Claudio Reyna role. However Michael Bradley is currently playing as the connecting/two-way midfielder and I don’t think Dax can displace him. Personally I think McCarty’s influence on games is underrated because of its subtlety and Bradley is ineffective when he isn’t winning the ball – which he has apparently lacked so far.

The real problem is Orozco on the left. He’s our third choice at left back at best and it shows. I’m afraid Ryan Babel is going to own him thoroughly. Personally I think Orozco should be tucked in at CB and Parkhurst should take left back. Edu is going to shield to be shielding him in the middle anyway.
