Another 2-1 loss to Columbus
First home game for Dallas in over a month later tonight
If the season ended today, FC Dallas would be in the playoffs as the 3rd seed in the West. Is that crazy or what? A team that started off the year on such high hopes has quickly gone through three coaching changes, two full formation and tactics switches, a loss to a USL side in a meaningful match, the sale of the team’s MVP from a year ago and a protracted ordeal involving rumors, speculation and offers for the services of their best player, Kenny Cooper, Jr.
No callup for Cooper
Hyndman clears the air with Rocha
Up next: Columbus Crew
So for the first time we see Schellas Hyndman really drop the hammer on a player, unless you are counting Ricardinho being waived last week. Ok so Schellas dropped the hammer on two players. In the space of a few short days we’ve seen one player booted off the bus and another told to move to the back. It’s going to be an interesting winter I think. Not that we don’t have some season left to play.
One thing was very clear today, FCD’s right midfielder and leading assist man André Rocha was missing form training. What remains abundantly unclear is why he was missing. It appears that on some level Rocha may have been suspended. Sorta. FCD head coach Schellas Hyndman had the explanation, er… reason… um… here’s what he said. “Rocha has had an issue. We’ve addressed the issue and we’re taking care of it internally.”
