Guarda Lands in Rockies

July 22nd, 2008 . By: Buzz Carrick

Colorado Rapids have won the weighted lottery for ex-SMU midfielder Bruno Guarda.

Rapids head coach Fernando Clavijo just might be a guy who wants to hold onto Bruno. Stay tuned to see what it takes for Schellas to get Bruno to Dallas.

that’s ok, as long as we get to tell Colorado, “You just got Ibby’d” in a few weeks!

That’s amazing. NY or LA didn’t win? Are we sure?

And if he stays there, we have yet another reason to dislike Colorado.

We’ll just trade Ricchetti or Saragosa for him.

Free up that int’l slot, were going to get rid of one of them anyway.

Colorado is unfortunately one of the other clubs that is overstocked at D-Mid. Maybe they would be enticed by a draft pick or allocation. FCD has those to spare. Just hope they don’t overpay for him.

Colorado could use a forward right now and a defender. You think Clavijo would like Abe (or Dom) and Wallace/Wagner for Burciaga (out of favor) and Bruno?

I bet SH trades Alvarez for him. Too bad FCD can’t ever get Ibby or McBride-like deals to go in their favor. But it could be worse. I’m sure TFC fans are still pissed about having Garber force their team to accept the worst striker in the league in exchange for their allocation.
