$4 Million for Cooper?

July 27th, 2008 . 5:59 am . By: Buzz Carrick

Reports out of England say Cardiff City have bid $4 million US (2 Mil Euro) for FCD striker Kenny Cooper.

If the offer is real, then Cooper will be gone.

And so will FCD’s season.

Wow – that’s the kind of offer I was scared of. Anyway, he deserves it if it’s true, and there is no way FCD won’t bite on a number that big.

If Cooper doesn’t play tonight then we will know how true this is.

I found another article on the same site that MLS had accepted that offer.

Was the offer 2mil Euro or 4mil USD? It is not a 2:1 exchange rate.

2 mil Euro is only 3.1422 mil USD

nevermind, I just read that it’s a 2 mil GBP offer. GBP EUR, but GBP is roughly 2:1, so 4 mil USD it is.

Money talks but why did FCD let it get this far? Could have pay him last year like they promised and this wouldn’t be coming up now.

Great for Kenny, thank goodness for him FCD didn’t do the right thing & I guessing there are more broken promised that actually worked our for the player (see Badson).

Buzz, How much of the decision to sell Kenny is actually the FC DAllas F.O’s.. and how much is MLS headqarters–because it is the HQ that really owns his contact, is’nt it?

It sounds like Kenny will finally make more than his (shockingly low!) $83,000 total annual compensation. Good for him! He deserves it greatly!
