Drew Moor Re-called for US
June 18th, 2008 . By: Buzz CarrickFC Dallas defender Drew Moor has been recalled to the US National Team for the second leg of their qualifier against Barbados. Moor has been brought back into the side after Steve Cherundolo was given the next game off. The US leads the two leg series 8-0. It now looks likely FCD will be missing both Adrian Serioux and Drew Moor from the back line this weekend against New York. Here’s the PR stuff… DREW MOOR CALLED IN FOR WORLD CUP QUALIFIERFC Dallas defender Drew Moor today was called by U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Bob Bradley for the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying game versus Barbados, which will be played on Sunday, June 22 at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. CT and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN Classic and Galavision. Moor will report to the team tonight night in Miami, Florida and rejoin FC Dallas on Monday, June 23. A Dallas-native, Moor has made four appearances for the U.S. National team, including two this year, the most recent on February 6, 2008 in a 2-2 draw against Mexico in Houston. In his fourth season with FC Dallas, Moor has played in every minute of the past 12 games, scoring one goal and adding one assist from his right back position. The U.S. opened 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying on June 15 by opening the first leg of their Second Round two-game series against Barbados with an historic 8-0 victory at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The eight-goal win is the largest margin of victory ever in U.S. Men’s National Team history, and ties the record for the most goals scored by the U.S. in a match. 10 Comments Comments RSS TrackBack Identifier URI Leave a comment |

Good for Drew. It seemed absurd to have Frankie backing up Cherundolo at this point, even though he’s still in great shape. He’ll be like 53 at the next World Cup…time for fresh talent. Give Drew (and others) a shot.
How about you leave one of our remaining defenders of this shoddy defense and take someone who deserves a shot- Kenny Cooper.
Is FCD preventing Cooper from being released? Buzz..?
So now we can get a backline thus: Wally-Davino-Pitch-Dello
I just can’t figure what BB has against Kenny
. He releases Ching and Donavan and doesn’t call up Cooper. Though when he had Donavan he called up Kenny to let him ride the pine all night.
We have an 8-0 lead, take “gamble”, if that’s what you think it is, on a striker.
MM, No.
Dan,
or worse….Bobby Rhine back there.
Ok, Buzz let me ask a different way. What is the deal with Cooper not being called up, it’s a different excuse every effing week - all of them complete bull###t.
Now the USsoccer.com site shows Brek Shea on the roster for Barbados. Cooper must be wondering what he did to hack off bradley so much. Now that ManU and the full US team want him might we see Shea actually make the field fora few FCD games?
Midnight, the minor deficiencies in Cooper’s game at the MLS level get magnified at the US level. He gives up possession just a bit too much and isn’t tactically disciplined enough.
But keep scoring goals and eventually they won’t have any choice but to give him a run.
